I just found out that my name was mentioned in a column on Broadway World called “Cabaret Chronicles.” Every Sunday evening I spend time at the Algonquin Salon, which is an open mic event for singers (musical theater, jazz, cabaret- you name it!) One of the talented singers who also attends each week, Miss Jenna Esposito, writes the Broadway World column and, this week, listed my name as one of the performers she enjoyed at the event. Here’s what she said:
As usual, the lobby of the Algonquin Hotel was filled with fabulous folks and terrific entertainers, including Deb Berman, Sean Harkness, Ray Jessel, Erin Cronican, Dana Lorge, and the fabulous guest co-hosts of the evening, Christine Pedi & Matthew Ward!

I was just stunned to have found this (thanks to setting up a Google Alert for my name...) There are usually 40+ singers during this 3.5 hour event each week, so be singled out with 4 other stand outs plus the incredible co-hosts makes me feel very special. Last week’s theme was “Comedy Tonight” so I sang my version of “Everybody’s Girl” from Steel Pier. Those of you who know the song know that the song was originally meant for someone in their 40s or 50s who is reclaiming her sex life, but I performed it in more of a quirky, ingenue-y style and I was overwhelmed by the positive response. I am heading back out there tonight - the theme is “Summer in the City” so I am still trying to figure out what I want to sing!
